Merrimack River - this color of chalked paint takes its name and color from the mighty Merrimack - a 117-mile-long river that flows from the Pemigewasset and Winnipesaukee rivers in Franklin to the Gulf of Maine at Newburyport. The clear blue water flows past my home in Concord and select the open blue of the sky and the clouds of a New Hampshire summer’s day.

Merrimack means "the place of strong current” to the Native Americans who lived on its shores.
